By the end of this session, participants will be able to: • Identify similes, metaphors and personification in poems. • Use writing frames to teach students how to write poems. Writing frames are texts with writing removed, leaving space for student to fill the spaces. • Use model texts to teach poetry writing. The presenter will share resources and strategies for teaching middle primary students how to write poems and recognise similes, celebrating what has been written in the workshop.
