Looking out for each other: Developing and Implementing Good Child Protection Practices

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Understand what Child Protection is and why a policy is needed
- Know what training and systems need to be put in place to support the policy
- Understand the pitfalls that accompany implementation
Description:
Schools have the responsibility of ensuring a safe environment for their students, and it is difficult to make sure that everyone in the organization is there for the right reasons. At the same time, the variety of cultural backgrounds one encounters, particularly in the international school setting, means that different staff members, parents and children may have widely varying comfort levels with different behaviours. In this session, participants will learn about one school’s experience with designing and implementing a policy and a staff Code of Conduct with all the employees of the school.
