The Quest for Engagement: Gamification in the Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Only the bravest teacher would ask a student about their favorite video game; the result would be a wave of enthusiastic explanation. Despite the difficulty, long hours of practice, and intense competition required of many gamers, games capture our attention and hold it. How can we build that same level of engagement in our classrooms? This workshop will explore this question and introduce how to effectively “gamify” our lessons.

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Understand the benefits of using gamification in classroom lessons
- Set up their own “game”
- Be able to demonstrate the benefits of gamification to others at their schools/institutions
