This workshop starts from the idea that managing a staff room can be compared to ‘herding cats’ but puts forwards practical suggestions as to how certain leadership techniques and personal qualities can produce a more creative and effective staffroom.

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Recognize the inadequacies and drawbacks of autocratic and paternalistic approaches to leadership in Education
- Identify qualities most likely to facilitate effective pedagogic leadership
- Reflect on practical approaches to changing leadership styles
