06- Teaching for Success – planning for effective CPD

We will explore the characteristics of effective CPD models, evaluate examples of CPD and reflect on the challenges and successes of integrating CPD into our contexts. We will review the British Council’s Teaching for Success approach to teacher development and explore the CPD frameworks for teachers, teacher educators and school leaders discuss how they could be used in your contexts.
This institute is relevant those involved in planning and implementing CPD programmes, including school leaders and teacher educators.

At the end of this day participants will be able to:
-Describe the characteristics of effective continuing professional development (CPD)
-Describe strengths and areas for development for CPD initiatives in your context
-Plan CPD for teachers using the British Council’s CPD Frameworks for teachers to identify the professional practices which meet the developmental needs of teachers in your contexts
-Locate and identify resources linked to the professional practices and enabling skills of the CPD frameworks for teachers and teacher educators.
